Book Review: Love Bites (Darkness & Light Duology Book 1)

The Book.

It’s been a while since I posted a book review, yet here one is. Today I’m reviewing Love Bites (Darkness & Light Duology Book 1) by TL Clark. You can purchase a copy from amazon.

Description:

Shakira didn’t fit in.

The reason why is tragic…

…but the solution is unbelievable.

Moving to Wales was a chance at a new start, a quest for somewhere to belong. Things don’t always go as planned. First it was the dreams. Why was she drawn to the forest?
And who are the strange beings with glowing cat-like eyes?

Then she meets him.

Can one kiss magically change her life?

Can she become the peacemaker she was meant to be?

You’ll love this paranormal romance because everyone loves a story of triumph with witches, faeries and dragons.

My Thoughts.

After reading just about everything I have in my collection, I put up a post in a Facebook group I’m a part of. I asked for book recommendations to review here on the blog. One of the first comments was from TL Clark with a link to this book. I looked at the description and immediately wanted to read the book. I downloaded it and spent most of last night reading. This morning, I woke up and picked up where I left off. If I could have stayed awake to read I would have. I’m not that strong though and sleep did drag me under. The book follows Shakira, a young woman who left her family to venture out on a journey of self-discovery. Her journey comes to an end in a Welsh town where she begins working at a coffee shop. A series of events and adventures into the forest which boarders her new home town unite her with her fated mate pryderi, who is one of the mysterious elinefae (shifters).
I can’t put into words how much I enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed and the creation of a new type of shifter race intrigued me. The name choices for each of the Elinefae characters were unique. The book combines romance, the paranormal and moments of steamy passion to create a wonderful read. I enjoyed learning about Shakira’s heritage as she did, and felt her pain of separation from Pryderi as she did.

My rating.

I rate this book a solid 5 out of 5 stars. I can not say how much I enjoyed reading this book. I am looking forward to devouring the second one too. If you like paranormal romance with a touch of self-discovery, witches, the fae and dragons, then this book is definitely for you.

Thank you.
